Frequently asked questions about the organisation Silence@work

Q: Is 'Silence@Work a BZN initiative?

Silence@Work originated from "De BZN Silence Farm- Metanoia" and therefore has 100% Flemish roots! The first steps were taken from B.ZeN², a cell of Bond zonder Naam.
The objective was to develop a trajectory around qualitative relationship formation. When the BZN Silence Farm Metanoia was started, it seemed obvious that the year's program: 'A compass for the labyrinth of love and relationships' would be offered from The Silence Farm.
The foundation was laid from 14 in-depth interviews with people who had experienced a divorce. A labyrinth for love and relationships' was first offered and supervised in 2016-17 by Marleen Dejonckheere, Patrick Hanjoul and Hein Stufkens.
When the new board of the BZN left the mission of the former Silence Farm with the sale of the location, we looked with a small group of loyal friends, towards friendly international contacts and networks. The non-profit organization Silence@Work was founded. A project that was initially linked to the location of the Silence Farm evolved into a digital platform that wants to be as widely accessible as possible.

Q: Which computer skills and technical conditions are needed?

A minimum computer skills are necessary such as having and reading email; You can browse fluently.

Q: What does my PC need to be able to handle to run the program?

You need a tablet or laptop to participate in the game. You're working in the browser. You need an e-mail to communicate with the coach and the group. You have to be able to play ZOOM meetings or other videos.

Q:What if I sign up for the program and cannot participate in a group session due to unexpected circumstances?

The route is completed with a small group of 6 to 7 tour companions. So everyone is important. At the start of the group process, the moments when people come together are clearly agreed via zoom. Q: I would like to follow the process but would also like to be able to supervise the process myself.

Guiding 'Into Silence' is for you if you are a coach, teacher, therapist, psychologist, HR person or an experienced group worker who likes to support people on their personal journey and welcome the dimension of meaning. ( link to find out if this is something for you ...) Let us know if you are interested via Link to contact us. We will keep you informed when we start with the 'train the trainer sessions'. We plan to organize an individual train the trainer program, combined with a 5-day stay at the Beguinage in Bruges. Later we want to offer a group program for small groups. An intake interview will take place beforehand and after successful completion of the training you will receive a license so that you can use the program in your own environment or organization. Provided that the agreements on use are respected.

Q: Who has access to the information that users write down in their 'Personal Diary'?

No one has access to what the user writes in their personal diary. The user decides for himself what he wants to share with the supervisor and/or with the group. Channels such as the chat room and the bulletin board are provided for this purpose. Both Silence @Work and the program 'Into Silence' respect the highest standards of privacy and GDPR legislation. (link to book).

Q: When will this process end?

The entire process consists of four levels. After that, the possibilities can continue to be used by the group. Into Silence offers key insights and tools that can be used permanently. In that sense, the process, for those who choose it, can be a lifelong learning process. The key insights and skills offered require training and practice. You can get better and better at it. As you become more skilled yourself, you can also add more value to your environment and your fellow travellers. We don't want to install a dependency on the process facilitator. The process is aimed at increasing self-reliance. We hope that, after completing the annual process, people will continue to meet each other and continue to meet and support each other through the possibilities of the game, including via chat room. The ultimate dream is that new people grow from the process who can guide groups themselves. Therapist comes from the Greek and means: Comrade-in-Arms... Companion. You could say that 'INto Silence' wants to awaken and develop the therapist in every person. We can all be 'comrades-in-arms' and companions for the people we meet on our way. By delegating that form of relationship to a few who 'listen empathetically' for a fee, we have neglected a potential in ourselves.

Q: What can we understand by Co-creation?

With the development of Into Silence, we hope to develop an instrument that can be constantly adapted and enriched. We imagine that the supervisors who want to work with the program can make proposals for improvement and enrichment. Each of the stepping stones can be further developed and deepened. Stepping stones can be added. New themes can be introduced or old themes can be further explored as a result of, for example, recent research. The challenge is therefore to remain both essential and complete and manageable.
Co-creation has three dimensions:

  • By participating, you feed an underlying research (AI)
  • By participating, you are invited to introduce weaknesses, ambiguities or missing items and to formulate alternative answers.
  • By participating you support the process of searching and creating together. The student is a master ... the master is a pupil ...
